Partners In Urban Ministry (PIUM)

Mission: Our organization strives to foster partnerships among LCMS congregations and entities to accomplish God’s mission in our midst.

Goals of this Core Team:

· Develop a strategy for training and education designed to develop lay leaders in the St. Louis Metro area.

· Work with and through Member Congregations, interested individuals, and organizations to carry out the strategy.

· Report to meetings of the organization on progress toward goals.

· Develop a budget to reach the goals of this core team and any committee needed.

· Work with the other Core Teams to let our Congregations and communities know of the ministries of the organization.

Projects-To-Date:

· by Information Services “Committee”:

· Re-design and re-development of the PIUM website

· On-going Cyber-Alerts and Computer-Tips (e-mail messages via subscription requests)

· On-going liaison for volunteers for prior PIUM Teams, via the Internet

· On-going support for PIUM Group E-Mail and Group Website (subscribe)

· On-going support for PIUM Prayer Chain Group E-Mail (subscribe)

· Note: Though the prior PIUM “Prayer and Devotion” Team is now defunct, this “online Prayer Chain” was established for it earlier.

· On-going IS Consulting (answering IS-related questions and offering advice for IS-related issues); input gathered from various IS volunteers; performs like an “IS HelpDesk” function
