This Cluster includes the following LCMS Churches: Christ, Mt. Olive, Our Redeemer, St. Johns, Timothy, and Unity (non-PIUM Member Church, located in Washington Park, Il .).

The “Alpha Cluster” is the first (alpha) sub-group of PIUM that serves as a pilot for subsequent ones. It consists of “Cornerstone” (anchor) churches (St. Johns and Timothy) and “Magnate” churches (Christ in the City, Mt. Olive, Our Redeemer, Unity) in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

 

Projects-To-Date:

· (1) Ethnic Concert, hosted by Mt. Olive L.C. at Mullanphy School (across the street from Mt. Olive L.C.), on 5/15/05 at 3 pm

· Associated with Pentecost and planned to be an annual event, with different “host congregations”

· Performing (singing, dancing, wearing ethnic outfits) groups: the African-American “Outloud Choir” and Eritreans (from Mt. Olive L.C.), French-speaking Africans (from Timothy L.C.), Koreans (from Belleville, Il.), and Bulgarians (from Granite City, Il.)

· Reception with snacks and drinks afterwards

· Volunteers helped with setup, ushering, distributing flyers, serving refreshments, clean-up, follow-up

· (2) Renovation of 3 Sunday-School rooms (plus clearing-out the prior PIUM Office) at L.C. of Our Redeemer, on 6/4/05 at 9:30 am

· Volunteers needed for clean-up and painting

· (3) Opening celebration for new Day Care Center at Christ L.C. (to be held in August 2005)
